Operation Reclaim offers activities for everyone. Whether it is summer or winter there is always a wide variety of sports, dance, drama and fun games to participate in. From football to cricket, hip hop to pop, fun fitness to Nintendo Wii, Reclaim has the lot.

                               

Operation Reclaim brings together the young people of the North of Glasgow to participate and enjoy the fun activities in a safe environment. Regardless of colour, religion or culture everyone is welcome. Reclaim is about integrating people from all backgrounds and breaking down the racial and territorial barriers in the North of the City. Through the project, the young people of the communities served by Reclaim have began to form positive relationships. This will be built on now and in the future.

A variety of sporting and fun activities are on offer in 7 areas covered by Operation Reclaim: Royston, Red Road, Sighthill, Springburn, Milton (Thursday, Friday and Saturdays), Wallacewell (Friday evenings only) and Quarrywood. During the summer (from June till August) activities take place every evening, Monday to Friday from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. For the rest of the year, from September until May, a winter programme takes place 3 nights per week, incorporating Reclaim - the Game football league and cup, indoor activities such as Cheerleading, dance and Nintendo Wii, play and fitness sessions into the Operation Reclaim project.

If the arts are for you, then why not try the dance and drama classes. You can learn new routines, how to act like movie stars, take part in performances or just turn up for the fun of it.

At Reclaim there are special night's set-up from time-to-time: the Reclaim Masterclass. At these masterclasses professional  footballers and coaches give a Masterclass in football coaching. Previously, football training sessions have been taken by Sidekix' own former Scottish international footballer, Paul McGrillen, former English Premiership Manager Billy Davies and local resident and former professional Chic Charnley.

Additionally, international R'n'B superstar Akon has appeared at Reclaim sessions to meet with and work with participants and share his life experiences with them. More masterclasses will be offered throughout 2009 - watch this space or contact us for more details.
